For this class project, we were required to use an article from online and place it into a magazine spread. We also needed to include our own imagery, whether drawn or photographed,
I decided to use photography, as I hadn't done much for my projects in school so far.
I knew that I wanted candid shots for a couple reasons. I believed that it would represent the meaning of the article well; taking time just to be with friends, not doing anything specific.
I knew that I wanted candid shots for a couple reasons. I believed that it would represent the meaning of the article well; taking time just to be with friends, not doing anything specific.
It also got around my problem of not having a photography studio space I could use, and any residential space I had access to was not well lit or well organized for the sort of photos I wanted.
I took about 50 photos, and eventually chose this one of the two subjects just sitting outside and talking. In the final product, I also edited the photo to make the blue shirt better match
the colors of the magazine spread.

During the ideation process for this project, I got the chance to explore different type options using Lettraset dry transfer type. This allowed me to experiment in a free and creative way that I don't think I would have been able to with digital type, which can be much more rigid . I think that this resulted in a very nice looking title that I would not have come across otherwise.
